Playwright & Filmmaker

Alicia Louzoun-Heisler is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and filmmaker. She holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch and continues to develop projects across genres and formats.

Her work has been recognized by the Goldberg New Play Prize, the Patty Abramson Award, and Launchpad’s TV mentorship prize, and shortlisted by Slamdance, the Athena List, the Chinonye Chukwu Emerging Writer Award, and Bay Area Playwrights Festival.

Her play The Gett was optioned as an independent film with producer Lawrence Gendron (A Wounded Fawn), and will mark her directorial.

Past credits include: Co-writer/producer on Josalynn Smith’s Ride or Die (Tribeca 2025) and story editor on the James Patterson Audible series Murder in Bermuda starring Mary-Louise Parker.

Alicia’s plays have been developed at Theater J, The Workshop Theater, Ensemble Studio Theater LA, Full Circle Theater, and Radio Theater (among others).
